"Erik Bruner was absolutely the best! He got me off largely scott free! I was charged with a drunk in public and possession of a controlled substance without a prescription, that had a pretty ugly (and I mean ugly) police report, and Erik was able to get me off pretty much entirely, all I had to do with attend a few AA or NA meetings over a pre-specified time period, and the case was dismissed! Nothing on my record, it's as if nothing happened! But, I did in fact have the prescription and evidence of this, so the City Attorney naturally dropped that charge. But, due to my reckless and really bad attitude and behavior toward the officers when they were arresting me (I literally slid my thin hands/wrists out of the cuffs twice, almost just to make fun of the cops), I was told by another attorney that getting the charge reduced or dropped was going to be difficult. Then, when I hired Erik, we simply showed up at court (and he was the first one, there first thing in the morning) and after about 5 minutes, Erik had negotiated with the DA such that all I had to do was some AA meetings and provide proof by a pre-specified date and all charges would be dropped! My other alternative was to do nothing (no AA, nothing) and the DA would drop it to an Infraction (which is essentially like a parking ticket) for disturbing the peace. I'm one of those individuals who is highly sensitive to having anything on my record (career purposes, though I don't believe infractions even show up), so I elected to do some AA meetings and have it all dismissed.

"Last year I was approached by an officer at a stop light for not having a front license plate. I was not a resident of California and was not required by my state to have a front license plate but I was pulled over anyways and put through several DUI tests. I was later arrested and charged with a DUI... for the second time in my life. Also, to make matters even worse I blew a .15 which is the minimum amount considered as "high alcohol content". I knew I was in deep trouble if I didn't find a great lawyer. As soon as I got out on bail the next day I wrote out a play by play of the events of the night before and called all the top DUI attorney's in San Diego. Erik Bruner was by far the best attorney I spoke with because he walked me through every possible scenario and outcome of my case. He was clear in his communication and understood the impact that a conviction would have on my life. Based on similar cases he had worked in the past, he was able to put my mind to rest on my prior. He has extensive experience in striking prior DUI's from other states. He also let me know that he wasn't totally convinced that my stop was completely legal.
